Tando Arches

This week on ~{Tando}~ we are showing off arches. I was only going to show one of them because I had so much trouble with the second, but in the end I'm being brave! I turned 2 of the ~{Straight Edged Small Arches}~ into minions:

I painted the base colour with acrylic paint and then used some steel texture paste through the one of the circles in the ~{Random Circles Mask}~ and very carefully removed the centre of the paste. Once this was dry, I painted everything and did some doodling to get the right look.

The trouble started when I attempted to glue the nylon hair in place. It's actually part of a duster and, as you can see, it got everywhere. It didn't want to stick to the arch, but it certainly stuck to me and my desk. And my floor. And anything else with a slight electric charge to it. I gave up! It was meant to have much more hair on it so it was bushy like the proper evil minion and I was going to trim it up, but I'd had enough!! So excuse the fact that the hair is all wrong, but I did like his face!

SDC 184 Bring Me Sunshine

I'm setting the ~{Stampotique Designer's Challenge}~ this week and I want you to bring me some sunshine .......... please, I'm done with the grey and cold!!

I made this card for my friend who likes nothing better than putting on her shades and catching a few rays:

I stamped ~{Floral Flutter}~ twice without the butterfly and masked it off, then stamped 2 of the birds from ~{Stack of Birds}~. I masked off the wording on the smaller cloud in ~{2 Nuages}~ and stamped the cloud then the ~{Sun Design}~. Everything has been watercoloured and I drew some shades on the top bird! I've finished off with ~{Happy Birthday}~.

I made the card a couple of weeks ago and then, when I found out the date of the new stamp release was before my theme, I had to make another using a new stamp!

I stamped ~{Sing}~ onto the card and using masking again, stamped the ~{Sun Design}~ and ~{2 Nuages}~. I've watercoloured everthing and added a typed quote.

Head over to the ~{SDC Blog}~ to check out the rest of the team's creations and join us to be in with the chance of winning $30 to spend on some new stamps in the ~{Stampotique Store}~.

Tando-Creative Anything Goes

For the week's theme of Anything Goes on ~{Tando}~ I made an anniversary card:

I began by running one of the ~{Mini Hearts}~ through an embossing folder and then painting it with acrylic paint. Once that was dry, I painted a thin layer of acrylic paint onto an acrylic block and 'stamped' the paint onto the heart. This way only the raised part gets coloured.

Next I took a ~{Butterfly Mini}~ and cut it in half then cut the body parts off. This has been painted with acrylic paint and then doodled on.

I dipped the card blank into some watery in and when this was dry, ink through random hearts from the ~{Heart Background Mask}~.

Stampotique New Release Blog Hop

Welcome to my part of the Blog Hop - I won't be putting the long intro here as, by now, I'm sure you're skipping that bit and wanting to get straight onto adding to your wishlist!!!

You should have arrived here from ~{Sue Davies}~, If not, head back to the ~{Stampotique Designer's Blog}~ to start yourself off.

As soon as I saw ~{NYNY}~ I knew it would be perfect for my bucket list journal page that has been in my mind for a very long time and that I would actually finally do it!

I started off with a randomly done painty pen-y background which I used ~{Design Cube 2}~ on. This is another 'must have' in my opinion!
I then stamped and watercoloured the ~{NYNY}~ (so good I've linked it twice!) image and cut it out and stuck the bottom and the sides to the page only.
I've then used ~{Typewriter Alpha}~ to make up the text - doodling and cutting each letter individually.

Finally I cut strips of card and stuck them into the 'pocket' with the idea that I'll date them as I do them!! A lot of them will involve me recovering to achieve them, but 1 or 2 will be crossed off this year!

The second thing I've made for the hop is a card for my BIL's birthday (I've had to put it at the bottom so he doesn't see it before the date!)

I stamped ~{Towering Gifts}~ directly onto the card blank and then very carefully stamped one of the ~{Dog Cube}~ next to it, firstly without one of the legs and then just the leg to almost the cocking position!!!

Everything was watercoloured and then I added ~{Couldn't you just pee your pants?}~ and added the detail!!

Here is the list of the DT taking part:

You will now be heading onto ~{Corrie's Blog}~. Don't forget to comment as you go as there will be randomly drawn prizes on February 25th.

SDC 183 Happy Unbirthday

This week's ~{Stampotique Designer's Challenge}~ is set by the talented ~{France}~ and she would like us to make an Unbirthday card, so I made this. I should say though, that neither ~{Gez}~ or I knew the other had made a peephole card (hers was last week and had a much neater version!) until we both uploaded them into our DT gallery! Great minds eh?!!

I started off by taking some card and splatting some diluted gelatos onto it with a paintbrush and then tore a hole and ripped it back. I then positioned it over a card blank and stamped ~{Karin}~ so she'd be peeping out of the hole:

I've watercoloured her and then used ~{ABC's}~with a stamp positioner to spell out the greeting. Finally a dose of doodling where needed and I stuck the top card in place with silicon glue.

Head over to the ~{SDC Blog}~ to check out the creations by this week's team and then join us to be in with the chance of winning $30 to spend in the ~{Stampotique Store}~. And that would be fantastic as we have some things you need to *watch this space* for coming very soon!!

SDC 182 Love and Hearts

~{Kristen}~ has set this week's ~{Stampotique Designer's Challenge}~ and she would love to see love and hearts from us. In the absence of an 'other half', I made a wallet for a gift card for my dad's birthday:

I started off with a gelli print and stamped ~{Hanging Hearts}~, coloured them and added some doodles and glossy accents.

I stamped ~{Whisker Monster with Sign}~ and watercoloured him before adding a heart and some loose letters.

Everything was stuck onto a folded piece of black card which holds the card inside.

Head over to the ~{SDC Blog}~ to see what the rest of this week's team have come up with and then join us to be in with the chance of winning the $30 to spend in the ~{Stampotique Store}~.

SDC 181 Citrus Colours

This week's ~{Stampotique Designer's Challenge}~ is set by ~{Sue}~ and she would like us to use citrus colours. I got fabby inky fingers doing this:

I stamped ~{Vine Scroll}~ onto the card blank and watercoloured it, then got inky on some card, with splashes of water and ink.
The background has yellow and lime inks on it, but the difference isn't showing so well on the photo.

I cut the card into pieces and doodled the edges, then stamped ~{Strut Your Stuff}~ on card and added just a hint of colour.
I've finished off with ~{Happy Birthday}~.

Head over to the ~{SDC Blog}~ to see what this week's team have created and then join us to be in with the chance of winning $30 to spend in the ~{Stampotique Store}~ at the end of the month.
