Tando - Flower Power

This week on the ~{Tando Blog}~ we have been all about the flowers. I made this card:

I used DecoArt's ~{White Modelling Paste}~ through the ~{Poppy Mask}~ and, when this was dry, through one of the stripes on the ~{Stripes Mask}~ for the stem.

When these were dry, I used Gelatos as watercolours to add colour and shading to the flower.

I finished off with a greeting stamp.

This will be my last Tando creation for at least this year. I have something good and 2 nasty things coming up in the next 6 months and so I need to concentrate all my limited energy onto getting through these. After being on the team since Di started the business it isn't easy, but it ha to be done. Thanks for all the lovely comments and support I have received from you over this time.
I aim to be back.

SDC 201 Give Wings

This week's ~{Stampotique Designer's Challenge}~ has been set by ~{Astrid}~ and she would like us to use wings:

I stamped ~{Chicken}~ onto card and watercoloured her, then stamped ~{Spider Wings}~  watercoloured and cut them all out before attaching them to Chicken. I gave her some grass to stand on then stuck her onto a card blank that had a very light stenciled background.

I stamped ~{Superhero Text}~ onto card twice, then cut the words out and added a bit of doodling and watercolouring before sticking it onto the card.

This will be my last Stampotique challenge for this year. I have something good and 2 nasty things coming up in the next 6 months and so I need to concentrate all my limited energy onto getting through these. After being on the team for 5 years it isn't easy, but it has to be done. Thanks for all the lovely comments and support I have received from you over this time.
I aim to be back.

SDC 200 Celebrate

~{Stampotique Designer's Challenge}~ has reached it's 200th challenge this week so we'd like you to celebrate with us. I made a tag:

The base of the tag has been made using torn book pages, gesso, gelatoes and doodles. I stamped ~{Fabulous}~ onto the background and added doodles to that then stamped ~{Crow Line}~ across the circle. I then stamped ~{Swirl Stalks}~ onto the side.

I masked off the lettering on ~{Happy Happy Happy}~ and stamped a string of 3, then used ~{Typewriter Alpha}~ to stamp the '200'. I then watercoloured the banner and stuck it in place.

I then added a watercoloured ~{Quasimoto 2}~ that I'd cut out. I stamped the image first directly onto the tag so I wouldn't have to cut out the halo!

Head over to the ~{SDC Blog}~ to see what we have created and then join us to be in with the chance of winning $30 to spend in the ~{Stampotique Store}~.

Tando June Anything Goes

For Anything Goes week this month on ~{Tando}~ I've got a new item and a change of background! I made this Gift Label at the annual retreat I go to with my arty friends.

As I was away from home, I didn't have all my supplies, but I did have DecoArt's Chalk Finish paint in white and some Fluid Acrylics in ~{Quinacridone Magenta}~ and ~{Cobalt Turquoise}~ so I blended those onto the base and the label. I used white and black pens for doodles (I did go a bit mad with the pens!).

As I was sat next to Di, I 'borrowed' her DecoArt misters. I started off with ~{Turquoise Shimmer}~, but thought it was too dark, so I sprayed over the top with ~{White Shimmer}~. I dabbed at it whilst damp to remove some of the white. Once this was dry, I added DecoArt Crystal Glass and something weird happened: It crackled very finely!! There must have been some sort of reaction in the combination of ingredients, but I loved the effect!

I put it over the bottle of wine I won in the raffle - we have 2 and raised money for both Action for ME and Cancer Research.

Tando Heat It Up

The technique we're using on the ~{Tando Blog}~ this week is 'Heat it up' and I have made this ATC:

First off, I gave the ~{ATC}~ a coat of gesso and then while that was drying, I used masking tape to tape off the little pieces on the ~{Random Circles Mask}~ that I didn't want to use. I then used a thick coat of gesso through the circles of the mask and used the heat gun to dry it, making sure that it bubbled to give lots of lovely texture.

I used Neocolours II to give a watercolour background on the rest of the ATC, leaving the circles white.

I painted one of the buttons from the ~{Button Grab Bag}~ with DecoArt's Media Fluid Acrylic in ~{Quinacridone Violet}~. Once this was dry I used white embossing powder and Design Cube to add details. I also added some white paint pen dots onto it.

When it was all dry, I doodled a border and added a flower, letters, ribbon and twine to finish it off.

SDC 199 Shimmer and Shine

This week's ~{Stampotique Designer's Challenge}~ has been set by ~{Kathi}~ and she would like to see shimmer and shine:

I used some silver leaf that I bought but hadn't used yet (don't we all have stuff like that?) through the Grid Round Stencil.

I stamped and watercoloured ~{Boots}~, cut her out and stuck her onto some dotty washi tape. I've finished off with 'Just For You' from ~{Barcode Text}~ directly onto the card blank.

Head over to the ~{SDC Blog}~ to see what this week's team have created and then join us to be in with the chance of winning $30 to spend in the ~{Stampotique Store}~.

Tando Colour

For this month's colour theme at ~{Tando}~ I've made an arch:

I randomly painted a ~{Gothic Arch}~ using a combination of  DecoArt's ~{Media Fluid Acrylics}~ and DecoArt White Chalk Finish Paint, then soaked and peeled a ~{Cloud Tree}~ and when it was dry, painted it and stuck it to the arch.

I also painted a house from the ~{Mini House and Fences Pack}~ and stuck that in place. Everything has been doodled on (of course).

I added 'home' to finish it off.
