Tando - Anything Goes

For this week's Anything Goes for ~{Tando}~ I've gone for another quick and simple card:

I put some of DecoArt's ~{White Modelling Paste}~ through the centre of the ~{Tornado Stencil}~ and when it was dry, added a little gelato with my finger for a slight colour.

I painted one of the flowers from the ~{Floral Grab Bag}~ with DecoArt's ~{Quinacridone Violet Fluid Acrylic}~ and then added some of the White chalk paint to the centre. Once this was dry, I added some white pen doodles.

The centre of the flower is one from the ~{Button Grab Bag}~ painted with white chalk paint and ~{Cobalt Teal Fluid Acrylic}~. This is finished off with some twine and Happy Birthday!

You can join us with our themes to be in with the chance of winning some Tando goodies. All the details are ~{HERE}~.

SDC 196 Something Old, New, Borrowed and Blue

This week's ~{Stampotique Designer's Challenge}~ has been set by ~{Coby}~ and she would like something old, new, borrowed and blue:

I used an old stamp: ~{Moth Fab}~ which was my very first stamp,
a new stamp: ~{Reggie}~ both watercoloured and cut out,
a piece of ribbon 'borrowed' from a bit of gift wrapping
and the colours are blue.

I used 3 pieces of card to fit the card blank and stuck parts of the stamps onto them. For the middle piece, I used ~{Cracks}~ and tied the ribbon around.

I finished off with ~{A Friend's Touch}~ and some doodles and shading around the edges.

Head over to the ~{SDC Blog}~ to see what the rest of this week's team have come up with and then join us to be in with the chance of winning $30 to spend in the ~{Stampotique Store}~.

SDC 195 Human with an animal head

This week's ~{Stampotique Designer's Challenge}~ is set by ~{Arwen}~ and she would like us to put an animal head onto a human body. I've loved doing this for a long time so was very happy to make this:

I stamped ~{Jammin'}~ without his head directly onto the card blank and watercoloured him, then  stamped ~{Chessy's}~ head and gave him a new hat from the ~{Hat Cube}~. Both were watercoloured, cut out and stuck in place. I think the new head suits him!

I finished the whole thing off with some doodling and Handle with Care from ~{Barcode Text}~.

Tando Peel It Back

This week on ~{Tando}~ we are using the peeling back technique. This involves soaking the chipboard in water and then separating it into 2 or 3 pieces. This is ideal for using on cards or journal pages as they become thinner.

I soaked a ~{Scallop}~ and a ~{Button}~ in water for about 5 - 10 minutes - make sure it's completely submerged - and then carefully separated a couple of layers. Mine was actually whiteboard so the white layer came off and I've saved that to use for texture on a journal page.

Once they are separated, leave them to dry completely. I'd recommend splitting them in the evening and letting them dry overnight unless you live somewhere warm. If they are damp you run the risk of them becoming damaged.

I then painted them using DecoArt's White chalk effect paint mixed with ~{Quinacridone Violet}~,  ~{Cobalt Teal}~ and ~{Napthol Red Light}~ fluid acrylics. Once dry I used Gelatos to add some shading, stamped on the button then gave everything a coat of ~{Clear Liquid Glass}~.

I've used 2 birds from Birdy Up that I watercoloured and cut out. Once everything was dry, I added a ribbon, some doodling, glued everything in place and finished off with a greeting.

Keep checking out the ~{Blog}~ this week to see what the rest of the team comes up with.

Tando Colour Week

This week at ~{Tando}~ we've got another colour theme and this time it's peacock colours so I made a tag:

I've used 2 of our new stencils ~{Mini Distressed Diamonds}~ and ~{Mini Distressed Sequins}~ with DecoArt's White Modelling Paste. Once this was dry - it doesn't take very long - I gave everything a good coat of gesso. I used a little bit of acrylic paint and then used Gelatos to blend everything together.

I painted a bird from the ~{Mini Bird and Branches}~ and stamped and doodled when it was dry. I added a load of doodles and some stamping to the tag and stuck it all together, putting a feather behind the bird.

I finished with a typewritten quote.

SDC 194 Use Stencils

This week's ~{Stampotique Designer's Challenge}~ is set by ~{Corrie}~ and she would like us to use one or more stencils. Fab theme Corrie!!

I went for simply putting DecoArt's white modelling paste through 2 stencils - a text one and Tando's Hearts Background Mask - and leaving it white. I like how understated the effect is.

I stamped ~{Sing with words}~ and decided she needed ~{Kate's Angel's wings}~

Everything is watercoloured, cut out and stuck onto washi tape.

I finished off with ~{Happy Birthday!}~ and some doodles.

Head over to the ~{SDC Blog}~ to see what the rest of this week's team have come up with and then join us to be in with the chance of winning $30 to spend in the ~{Stampotique Store}~.

Tando Mini Canvas

This week at ~{Tando}~ we're concentrating on the ~{Mini Range}~ which I love because they're perfect for cards. They are smaller and thinner than the regular Tando greyboard, but are still sturdy and take a good bashing from me!

I decided to make something other than a card this time and made this mini canvas for my friend's birthday. The canvas is about 6 x 6 I think (I've posted it already and forgot to measure it).

I glued 12 butterflies from the ~{Mini Butterflies}~ onto the canvas and once dry, gave the whole lot a coat of gesso. Once that was dry I painted the whole thing with DecoArt White Chalk Finish Paint and left it to dry.

I took 4 more butterflies and painted and blended them with the chalk paint and DecoArt Fluid Acrylic in Cobalt Teal.

Next I used Gelatos to lightly colour the canvas and the edges of the butterflies, blending them with a finger. I then used a text stamp randomly on the butterflies.

Finally I used Design Cube and white embossing powder on the blue butterflies before gluing them to the canvas.
