SDC 188 Fave background technique.

This week's ~{Stampotique Designer's Challenge}~ is set by ~{Nellie}~ and she would like us to show out favourite background techniques. I made this card for my niece's birthday 3 weeks ago.I know I used the same image as last week, but she has the right attitude for a 16 year old!!

My favourite technique is to smoosh the card blank onto some watery ink because you never know what you're going to get and you can keep going until you like it. I also love to flick ink onto the card for the same reason. I also doodled the border and added a bit of colour just inside it to frame the card.

I stamped ~{Bla Bla Bla}~ onto the background randomly and stamped ~{Penelope}~ and watercoloured her. I finished off with ~{Whatever}~; all 3 stamps work perfectly together for the right amount of sass!

Tando Anything Goes

I got this ~{Tando}~ Anything Goes done by the skin of my teeth again! As you can now buy a selected range of ~{DecoArt Media Products}~ in the ~{Tando Store}~, I wanted to wait until my order came through, and I'm glad I did as they are awesome products!

I started off finger painting with some fluid acrylics then mixed some of the ~{White Modelling Paste}~ with ONE drop of ~{Dairylide Yellow}~ and put it through ~{Codebreaker Mask}~. Fell in love with them instantly!! There's so much pigment in those little bottles and only using a tiny bit to get intense colour means they will last for ages.

I then mixed some White chalk paint with  TWO drops of ~{Cobalt Teal}~ and ~{Quinacridone Violet}~ and painted 2 of the ~{Mini Pack of Birds}~. I didn't use the wings as my journal is in danger of never closing again! You can see how bent the pages are, I couldn't get a flat photo!

I've used the ~{Clear Liquid Glass}~ to make raised dots around the circle.

I used the leftover paint to add highlights and general mark making on the background. Then finished off with washi tape, doodling and a typed quote.

Join in with us, using any of our themes this month to be in with the chance of winning some Tando goodies!

SDC 187 Use Neon

This week's ~{Stampotique Designer's Challenge}~ has been set by ~{Astrid}~ and she would like us to use neon colours. I only have a couple of neon pens, so I used bright colours to compensate:

I've used bright acrylic paints, a mask and washi tape to create the background as well as text paper. I've used ~{Design Cube 2}~ randomly on the background and ~{Numeric}~

I then made some random marks onto the background with my neon pens and added the quote using ~{Typewriter Alpha}~ (yes I know I used a 'c' instead of an 'o') ;)

I've finished off with ~{Penelope}~ and coloured her with Clean Color pens.

Head to the ~{SDC Blog}~ to see the creations from this week's team and join us to be in with a chance of winning $30 to spend in the ~{Stampotique Store}~.

More New Stampotique's

I love the new images by ~{Kate Crane}~, so much so that, when I couldn't decide which to use for a  birthday card, I used both!

I used some texture paste through a stencil - I hadn't cleaned the ink off so it coloured the paste which I loved.

I stamped ~{Boots}~ and ~{Kate's Angel}~ onto card and watercoloured them with Clean Colors then cut them out. I've put Boots onto a washi tape line and the angel is flying.

I've finished off with ~{Happy Birthday}~ onto the card blank.

SDC 186 Stars

This week's ~{Stampotique Designer's Challenge}~ has been set by ~{Carol}~ and she would like us to use stars:

I stamped ~{Guardian}~ onto card and watercoloured her using Clean Colors, then cut her out. I then stamped ~{Perhaps They Are Not Stars}~ onto the card blank, followed by the stars from ~{Design Cube}~.

I stamped some Tando stars from the Mini Grab Bag, doodled them and stuck them in place. I added Guardian with silicone glue and gave her a cloud to stand on.

Tando Crackle

This week on ~{Tando}~ we're using  crackle techniques. I made an anniversary card:

I used Paperartsy's crackle medium between 2 layers of acrylic paint onto a heart from the ~{Pack of 5 Hearts}~. When this was all dry, I added some ink to the edge of the heart.

I used ~{Moroccan Grid Mask}~ onto the card blank and then layered up with some music paper, a feather and some dyed bandage type material - it has a proper name, but that escapes me for the moment! I added some letters and a flower to finish off.

Keep checking the ~{Tando Blog}~ this week for more crackly goodies.

More Stampotique new releases

I've made a card using Daniel Torrente's new cubes:

I stamped one of the hats from ~{Hat Cube}~ then masked it and used a stamp positioner to add the dogs from ~{Dog Cube}~. I think these are 2 'must haves' from the new release. I've watercoloured them using Kuretake Clean Colors which are watercolours in a pen with a proper brush not a 'brush type' brush. I still use a waterbrush though to blend the colours.

I've sat them on some grass and added a typed quote.

You can see all of the new release stamps ~{HERE}~
